The aim of the meeting is to bring face-to-face a small group of innovators who are working in the field of cellular modeling and visualization from different viewpoints to establish and strengthen interdisciplinary and integrative collaboration. For this meeting we are gathering 24 experts for a few days in San Diego.
The aim of the meeting is to bring face-to-face a small group of innovators who are working in the field of cellular modeling and visualization from different viewpoints to establish and strengthen interdisciplinary and integrative collaboration. For this meeting we are gathering 24 experts for a few days in San Diego.
The meeting is being designed to be as interactive as possible. With only 24 participants, each will be given equal opportunity for discussion. Our first session will be a series of 5 minutes enlightening “lightning talks” where every participant can present whatever they would like that indicates what they bring to our subsequent discussions. Currently our vision is that the bulk of the meeting will consist of five panel discussions, each with 5 panelists leading the discussions on the challenges we face.

Welcome to the event. Panel 1 discussions. Data Gathering and Integration - Formats & standards discussing challenges and future directions related to data formats, standards, integration for whole cell modeling.
Panel 2 & 3 discussions.Imaging – from volumetric to segmented and annotated 3d data discussing imaging techniques from molecular to tissue scale, segmentation, reconstruction, data management. Modeling – from molecular to ultrastructure and spatial distribution discussing different computational approaches for spatio-temporal modeling molecules, pathways, dynamics, organelles, whole cells.
